Sherry R. Wetsch is a 1981 graduate of Moorhead State
University. She received her Juris Doctor in 1984 from the
University of North Dakota School of Law . Ms. Wetsch is
licensed to practiced law in Texas, North Dakota and
Ms. Wetsch started her legal career as an attorney for the
United States Department of the Army, and also served as
an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. Beginning in 1996 her
practice has centered on Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Ms. Wetsch has served as a third party neutral on
thousands of cases including labor, employment,
securities, consumer, contract, criminal, commercial, and
Ms. Wetsch has served as an arbitrator through AAA,
Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS), FINRA,
National Arbitration Forum (NAF), National Arbitration and
Mediation (NAM), National Mediation Board (NMB), and
Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT).Through
FINRA, she has served as a neutral on dozens of securities
disputes, including serving as Chairperson. She serves as
an arbitrator through FMCS on labor disputes. Her
experience in labor and employment is in both the private
and public sectors. She has sat as a Hearing Officer
through Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). She has also
served as a Temporary Administrative Law Judge for the
State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) on a wide
range of issues involving governmental entities and
Ms. Wetsch serves as a mediator through TWC. She has
served as a mediator on felony criminal court dockets. She
conducts mediations for the United States Postal Service
REDRESS program on employment related disputes. She
also serves as a mediator for FINRA.
Ms. Wetsch received basic, advanced and family law
mediation training through the Attorney-Mediators Institute.
She has been trained in the “Mediation of EEOC Charges”
and has received mediation training for the “Transformative
Practice/Framework”. She has received arbitration training
through AAA, FINRA, FMCS and SOAH.
Ms. Wetsch has served on the board of directors of the
Katy Bar Association and the Academy of Court Appointed
Masters, and on the Women & Law Section Council for the
State Bar of Texas. She has published on dispute
resolution related subjects.
